CMHA also received ARRA Formula Grant funds to upgrade the electrical system in Building #4 along Woodland Avenue in Outhwaite Homes Estate. CMHA has been working to progressively upgrade the electrical systems in all buildings at Outhwaite Homes Estates because the buildings were originally constructed in the 1930s and the circuits were underpowered for today’s modern electric appliances. CMHA was able to put the stimulus dollars to work in providing the much-needed electrical upgrade to these units, effectively doubling the amperage of the electrical system, helping to make the units more habitable for CMHA residents.
