Section 3 Program
The Board of Commissioners of the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) formally adopted an updated Section 3 Program at its meeting on November 7, 2007.
The purpose of the Program is to help foster local economic development, neighborhood economic improvement, and individual self-sufficiency. The Program affords maximum participation in all contracting and procurement opportunities for certified Section 3 Businesses to the greatest extent feasible.
The Section 3 Program address the needs of certified businesses such as identifying contracting and purchasing opportunities, identifying financial resources, providing support, technical assistance and general information. Businesses awarded contracts by CMHA must give preference in contracting at least 10% to certified Section 3 businesses.
There is an agreement between CMHA, Cuyahoga County and the City of Cleveland for Section 3 certification. If your business is certified by any one of these organizations, your business will be listed as Section 3 certified with the other two.
To become certified by the Agency, a certification application must be completed and submitted to:
