Youthbuild recently completed a team retreat. The focus of the event was to prepare Youthbuild trainees life after Youthbuild. Youthbuild trainees completed workshops on personal and family development. In addition, Youthbuild trainees had a family day cookout dedicated to spending time with their families.

Additionally, we collaborated with Towards Employment to implement a simulation work program. The program was titled “Rhythm Rack” and the theme focused around customer service. The participants were owners and employees of a music store and interacted with real customers. As a result, our participants were challenged with situations where they had to demonstrate how they would handle themselves using the customer service training they learned in the program.

As we complete the second cycle of the program we will continue to focus on leadership development, community service, and the creation of a positive environment whereby each participant can commit to helping each other succeed.
