The
mission of YouthBuild is to unleash the positive
energy of low-income, young adults to rebuild their communities and
their lives with a commitment to work, education, responsibility, and
family. CMHA started YouthBuild in 2006 as a result of a grant received
from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Since inception,
the program has focused on education, leadership, financial literacy,
life skills, and workforce development.
The first YouthBuild cycle participants worked under a
CMHA contractor to build ten new multi-family
units at Riverside Park. Currently, we have ten participants enrolled
in the program. They have been working with our contractors to prepare
units for occupancy at locations throughout the Agency.
