Public Hearing for PHA Plans

CMHA has announced a Public Hearing on September 26, 2011 at 4:00 pm to consider:

a) amendments to the CMHA 2011 Public Housing Agency (PHA) Plan; and

b) the CMHA 2012 PHA Plan.

CMHA is seeking public comments for the following proposed amendments to the FY2011 PHA Plan:

Disposition plan – CMHA needs to submit a disposition plan to HUD for a vacant parcel of land at Carver Park, and
Mixed finance project – CMHA needs to add the Fairfax Intergenerational housing project as a new development project, which will also need to be designated as elderly housing.

CMHA has also developed its PHA Plan for 2012 to advise its residents, HUD, and members of the public of its mission, strategies, and policies for serving the needs of low-income families throughout Cuyahoga County. The 2012 PHA Plan (attached) includes updates and revisions to the 2011 PHA Plan, and the 2012 Capital Fund Program (CFP) plan and budget, as well as proposed changes to the Public Housing Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy and the Housing Choice Voucher Program Administrative Plan.

Comments can be submitted prior to, but are welcome at the Public Hearing to be conducted by the CMHA Board of Commissioners on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the CMHA Board Room located at 8120 Kinsman Road, Cleveland, Ohio. The public is invited.

In compliance with the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998, the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) has developed its Public Housing Agency Plan for 2011. Through this Agency Plan, which consists of an annual plan for 2011 and a five-year plan for 2010-2014, CMHA is advising its residents, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and members of the public of its mission, strategies, and policies for serving the needs of low-income families throughout Cuyahoga County.

The 2011 Agency Plan includes updates and revisions to the 2010 Agency Plan, and the 2011 Capital Fund Program (CFP) plan and budget. Changes to the 2011 Agency Plan along with changes to the Public Housing Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP) and the Housing Choice Voucher Program Administrative Plan were part of a review process that concluded with a Public Hearing on September 23, 2010. The CMHA Board of Commissioners approved these changes at the October 6 Board meeting, and the 2011 PHA Plan (available below) was submitted to HUD for review on October 15, 2010.
