Griot Village

The U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro visited CMHA’s Griot Village, a unique intergenerational housing complex located in Cleveland’s Fairfax neighborhood, to determine if this type of housing should be a model for other cities across the country.

The complex, a hybrid development serving both youth and seniors and designed in accordance with Enterprise Green community Standards, is one of just seven such housing developments in the country that was created for seniors raising children, and the only one of its kind in Ohio.

With your support, CMHA has become an industry leader in providing intergenerational housing. Please take a moment to watch this video of residents sharing their gratitude for the opportunity to live in an affordable housing community with access to resources such as a computer lab, homework help, transportation, nearby schools and playgrounds.
